Some days lend themselves to reflection. Today is my 25th Wedding Anniversary. It seems impossible that I have reached this silver event, even though the silver in my hair attests to the passage of time. And, if I look at my grown children and look back on the long list of things we have done, it is obvious that only many years would make them possible.
This photo was taken when good friends invited us to help them celebrate their 35th Anniversary last winter. Good friends are one of the great gifts of our years together. Each place we have lived has been a rich garden of wonderful relationships, which we treasure even when we have moved on to new patches of ground.
And so, to those friends and to our families, thank you for walking this journey with us so far. We look forward to the years to come. And, like this painting "Quiet Corner" (of a corner in the Big House in Michigan), I will take time today to think about the many blessings of this amazing adventure.
My biggest thank you goes to my husband Ben. Thank you for all you do, and for being the amazing husband you are to me, and father you are to Scott and Katie. You're the best. I look forward to going for the gold, twenty five more years of life together, and beyond.
